The husband of Milltown shopkeeper Joyce Quinn, who was murdered over 25 years ago, paid tribute to her in a new TG4 documentary describing her as perfect as you can get in this world.
Ray Quinn will be speaking on the Marú Inár Measc (Murder Among Us) true crime documentary series by Midas Productions being aired on Wednesday night at 9.30pm.
Rays (above) says of the much-missed mother-of-three: Joyce was as perfect as you can get in this world. And her family was everything to Joyce.
Deaf-defying When I was a baby forty nine years ago, it was my grandmother who spotted I was deaf. The door would slam and I never responded. My mum, Avice, took me to get tested and was told I would never get a job and would have to learn sign language to communicate.
She was advised I should go to the school for the deaf in Cabra but instead she took the view I should have the same opportunities as any other child and so sent me to the mainstream school in Sligo where my father taught.
My mother was also a teacher but gave this up to concentrate on helping me learn how to speak and lip read, and then many years later, to help my brother who was also born deaf.
