The Forest Service is raising picnic and camping fees for Mt. Charleston, ending lower rates during the week you still have the opportunity to make a public comment.
A powerful winter storm that dumped more than 2 feet of snow within 24 hours in the mountains surrounding the Las Vegas valley created some dangerous conditions, including an avalanche at Lee Canyon.
The U.S. Forest Service describes it as “a race against the clock” repairing communities in the Spring Mountains after the August storm and before winter and wet weather that could add time to the process.
