you understand that he hasn t even made an attempt to compromise in any way. i think just as pat said, he has the votes in the legislature. all you should have to do as an executive is get a majority of the votes. had that happened early on in this process, i don t think it would have taken the bows and arrows and shots that he has. do you agree with what he s doing? substance of it i do. there was a discussion a couple weeks ago that says most governors and mayors would like to manage their team without interference of collective bargaining. it s true. i believe that managers have the ability to set fair wages and set fair hours and to reward people or hold them accountable. i think it s a new day and collective bargaining agreements are outdated. that being said, i really do believe that if you are in a state house, the state legislature needs to vote up or down and then let s move on. i bet he would be willing to accept whatever they come up with.
have afghanistan going on one back burner that we pay very little attention to. at the same time on the front burner for a period of time, 24 hours, we need a no-fly zone in iraq. who will flip the bill for this? i mean in libya. why don t we get help from nato? the international dithering of libya is so tragic in a way that it just takes so long to get any decision out. we need yes, pat. you put the no-fly zone and you start bombing air fields and anti-aircraft sites and you ll kill nine kids. and in that picture will be on al jazeera with scattered bodies and here come americans again attacking muslim country and they re after our oil and that spreads through the area because there will be collateral damage here and that s the argument for not going into these things just as gates made about a week ago.
