Though the founder of Christian Worship Hour has passed away, the program and ministry are expected to continue on for years to come.
After welcoming listeners and viewers to the program every week for more than 40 years, Pastor Harold Salem passed away on December 18 at the age of 99.
Christian Worship Hour President Bill Edwards says Salem had a singular focus for his entire ministry. His life s passion was to show people the way to Jesus Christ, shares Edwards, adding that Pastor Salem was successful at that because he was gifted at interacting with people and had a way of communicating God s Word in a really extraordinary manner.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Pastor Harold E. Salem, founder of the Christian Worship Hour, died on Friday morning surrounded by his family in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
He was 99 years old.
The funeral service for Pastor Salem was at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23.

Born near Belle Fourche, South Dakota, he earned his bachelors, masters and Doctor of Ministry degrees and pastored two churches, as well as his television congregation, for more than 76 years in the ministry.

The legacy he left will endure for generations. Pastor Salem was born on June 26, 1921 near Belle Fourche, SD to Mike and Clara Salem. He was the oldest of 5 children and grew up working the farm and tending sheep. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and devoted his life to faithfully serving Him.Harold married Beulah I. Salem died at age 99 Friday morning surrounded by family in Aberdeen, South Dakota according to Bill Edwards, president of the Christian Worship Hour.
His funeral services will be live-streamed on Facebook and online.
The Christian Worship Hour airs Sunday mornings at 5 and 9 a.m. on KCWI. Edwards said 1.6 billion households watched Pastor Salem s program.
