President Obama Votes Present on Pastor Saeed Abedini Pastor Saeed Abedini and his wife An Iranian-American Pastor, who was setting up an orphanage in Iran, has been sentenced to 8 years in Iran’s most brutal prison, Evin prison. The charges against him are for “evangelizing.” The sentence was passed down by Judge Pir-Abassi, Iran’s hanging judge. The evidence was based on Abedini’s activities in the early 2000s when house churches were not considered a threat in Iran. The charges are bogus, as if imprisoning someone for preaching could ever be deserving of 8 years in jail to begin with. This is an American citizen we are talking about.
