Carroll County recently received accreditation from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and the first set of NAMI-supported programs will be getting underway at the beginning of the new year. Pastor at First United Methodist Church of Carroll, Terry Plocher, is one of the many people who have been working for months to bring this valuable resource to the region, and he is excited to announce registration is now open.
According to Plocher, the facilitated classes will help connect people with others who understand the issues they are facing. He says it is difficult for people who don’t struggle with depression, anxiety or other forms of mental illness to understand what others experience. He says building relationships with individuals who do can make a world of difference.
