POLICE officers have issued a warning as thieves have targeted horse stables in North Yorkshire.

Wrexham Council remind horse owners to microchip horses by February 12

Horse. WREXHAM Council is reminding those who keep horses that they must be microchipped by next week. It is now a legal duty for horse keepers and owners in Wales to ensure that their horses are microchipped, with the deadline being Friday, 12 February. A spokesperson for the council, said: Horses are required to be microchipped to prevent abuse and improve welfare. The Central Equine Database allows local authorities and police to track down the owners of dumped horses and make sure they are punished and the animals are given the care they deserve. It will also mean lost or stolen horses will be reunited with their owners more easily.
