JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Board of Supervisors’ Public Works Committee recently authorized advertising for bids for the $1.25 million County Airport main apron reconstruction project.
County Planning Director Scott Henze brought the project to the committee’s attention.
“This project is within our 2021 capital plan,” he said.
Henze said the Federal Aviation Administration used to start its awards process later in August and September, but is starting earlier this year in May.
Fulton County has developed a plan to submit a pre-application to the FAA seeking non-primary entitlement funding, as well as discretionary funding for the project. The county’s local share for the runway and taxiway lighting project is estimated at about $62,500.
