AZ coach Pascal Jansen says he is ashamed of the riots that broke out in the AFAS Stadium on Thursday after the semi-final loss of 1-0 against West Ham United. Young football fans are tired of the continuing violence and being afraid to go to the stadium.
West Ham manager David Moyes admitted he was concerned for the safety of his family after AZ Alkmaar hooligans attacked Hammers fans following Thursday's Europa Conference League semi-final in the Netherlands.
West Ham players confronted a group of AZ Alkmaar fans who attacked an area in which their friends and family were watching the teams' Europa Conference League semi-final second leg.
“So far, no arrests have been made. Our aim was to disperse the crowd and restore order as quickly as possible, in which we succeeded. The police will investigate footage of the incidents and try to identify supporters. Arrests may follow from this,” local police statement said."
