BANGKOK: The government has set up a “war room” to closely monitor the impact of Typhoon Noru, which is expected to hit the northeastern provinces as a tropical storm on Thursday (Sept 29).
Seventeen second-hand passenger train carriages from Japan are set for a new lease of life having now been refurbished ahead of being put into service for short tourism routes from next month, says the State Railway of Thailand (SRT).
Back in 1984, Rangsit Field among other plains in the central region of Thailand, had been long recognised as a fruitful area with orange orchards cultivated over seven years capitalising on its location enriched with water resources.
The State Railway of Thailand is all set to run its special “floating train” service on the Bangkok-Pasak Jolasid Dam route every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until January.
