Following the threat of drones, a new military challenge in  Kashmir, namely hybrid militants, seems to be keeping security forces on their toes. While the latter are not defined as ultras . hybrid militants lead normal, everyday lives but are considered to be radicalised enough to carry out a terror attack before returning to their ordinary lives again.  The trend of hybrid terrorists or part-time militants has been on the rise in Kashmir over the past few weeks with several attacks on soft targets being carried out by young, pistol-wielding persons who are not particularly listed as ultras or militants by security forces. Such attacks have taken place across the Valley including the city of Srinagar.
