This is what it looked like in fort lauderdale. And a defense fog advisory is in place for the coast until later this morning. We have been watching the sea fog move in along the areas. Hard to see anything, right . Lets go to meteorologist leigh spann with a look at what we can expect today, especially for the morning commute. Yeah, whats happening is we are pulling in a ton of moisture off the gulf of mexico. The sea fog has really crept in. A lot of clouds and also a lot of drizzle. Its not being picked up by the radar but you have to use the windshield wipers to clean the windshield off. Farther to the south, Highlands County, you are under a flood watch because you saw a lot of steady rain yesterday and you are expected for the same today. The defense fog advisory is for citrus, pinellas, through Manatee County and sea fog out in the gulf of mexico. And visibility, less than a saw the video, it is tough to see out there. During the day, im going to keep in about a 50 rain chance.
And this morning, a dense fog advisory now in place for the coast until later this morning. And now we have been watching the sea fog move in over areas along the coast there overnight. And this is the view here along the Howard Franklin bridge. Not a whole lot you can see in front of you. Lets head over to meteorologist leigh spann. Whats happening is the sea fog, the fog over the water is going to last into the afternoon. But the onshore fog will only last until about 8 00 this morning. And its just for this sliver of area from citrus, hernando, pasco county, along 19, all of pinellas into tampa and manatee county. But look at this moisture just streaming in off the gulf of mexico. And thats why im keeping in a good chance for not only low clouds but drizzle and light rain. Look whats happening right now in highlands and Desoto County.
