Berkeley where police are investigating what led up to a riot that at one point included thousands of people. According to berkeley side, the the uproar began around 1 20 this morning with reports of people throwing rocks or bottles at officers. Police reportedly arrested three people who may be linked to several assaults. One person is hospitalized after suffering a head injury. And more breaking news in martinez. A driver in oakland is charged with a crash that killed a man and seriously injured a woman. Neighbors near macarthur boulevard and 106th avenue heard a loud crash around midnight saturday morning. Police say the driver of a speeding convertible ran a red light, slamming into another car, sheering off its front end and went airborne, landing on someones front lawn. A 19yearold man was tossed from the convertible and killed. A woman in the other car went to the hospital. Neighbors say they see drivers running red lights all the time.
