The Conservative Party police and crime commissioner (PCC) candidate for Wiltshire has been disbarred after a historical drink driving conviction was revealed, making him ineligible to stand for the role.

We approached both Mr Seed and the Conservative Party before polling day and asked them both whether he had ever been convicted. They did not respond to our specific questions.
FULL STATEMENT: Jonathon Seed confirms he s pulled out of crime commissioner race JONATHON Seed has confirmed he has withdrawn from the race to become Wiltshire s Police and Crime Commissioner. It follows reports that the Conservative Party HQ told him he would be disbarred from the position if he were elected on Monday, due to a past driving conviction. In a statement, Mr Seed claimed he had declared the 30 year old driving conviction to the party in his applications for the role. The Conservative Party is yet to comment.
