Announcement that will tell teens about the dangers of. Distracted walking, when youre taking selfies or texting while you walk. Youre on your phone and youre crossing the street and. Youre not paying attention to everything around you. Distracted walking, just like distracted driving, is a bad idea. In fact, every year, thousands of teens end up in the hospital because they were walking without paying attention. With the increased popularity of mobile devices, distracted walking is becoming a more serious issue, which is why we are encouraging youth to help us to get the word out to their peers. So the National Road Safety Foundation is once again partnering with scholastic for the annual drive2life contest. Were inviting students in grades 6 through 12 to send in their ideas for a 30second psa that communicates this years theme distracted walking equals dangerous walking.
