Police in Hanoi have broken up an illegal ring that smuggled nearly VND30 trillion (US$1.29 billion) out of Vietnam and arrested 10 suspects.
Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue has sent a letter to congratulate the Hanoi Department of Police on dealing with the serious and complicated case that had been going on for a long period of time.
According to investigators, Nguyen Van Thang, the leader of the ring, colluded with other accessories to establishe many companies and conduct necessary paperwork and procedures to transport money across the border.
Officers are expanding their investigation and have refused to provide further details.
At the
Da Nang (VNA) – Excellent dishes with kimchi – the soul food of
the Republic of Korea (RoK) - were introduced at the final round of the K-food
Festival which was held by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in
the central city of Da Nang on December 17.
The best five teams were chosen to the finale after beating 12 others in the
qualifying rounds that took place from November 16 to December 6. They were
praised for good cooking techniques, and wonderful dishes which feature both
Vietnamese and Korean culture.
The first prize was presented to Nguyen Thi Thuy Van from Quang Ngai with

Expanded internet access required to boost digital transformation
The Vietnam Internet Association hosted Internet Day 2020 on December 16, marking the 23rd year since Vietnam became part of the global internet network.
With the theme “Digital Transformation in Vietnam: From Aspiration to Reality”, the event’s discussions centred around Cloud Computing, 5G Services, e-Payment and Mobile Money, Blockchain, Free and Open-source Software (FOSS), and “Make-in-Vietnam” digital technologies, among others.
In June, the government adopted the National Digital Transformation Roadmap 2025 and vision towards 2030, which focuses on three pillars: e-Government, e-economy, and e-society.
