College is arrested and faces felony charges for sexually assaulting his teammate. Prosecutors say the incident happened in Lawrence Gaines room in oaks hall at carthage after the two men returned from an offcampus party. The victim was reportedly intoxicated when the assault happened. The victim says he passed out and once he regained consciousness, he ran from the room. Students on campus say they had no idea of the accusations and the school left we found about the whole incident through social media instead of getting a formal email from the school the school did send out a note to students four days after the assault was reported. Carthage college released a statement saying in part that. Carthage is committed to creating a safe, healthy, and non discriminatory environment for all of our students, and we take reports of Sexual Misconduct very seriously.
