Humble BBQ Cook-Off, Rodeo kicks off next week without carnival By Savannah Mehrtens, Staff writer
Humble BizCom was held virtually on Jan. 21, opening as this year’s first such event for Partnership Lake Houston.
Jerri Monbaron, Humble ISD Community Development Director, discussed the upcoming Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off that begins Jan. 28. While the carnival will not be able to make it to town this year due to COVID-19 related company budget cuts as a small business operation, the BBQ Cook-Off and Rodeo are still moving ahead.
They are working with the city of Humble and Harris County to follow the governor’s orders and local health recommendations, according to Monbaron, so guests will be asked to wear masks on shuttle buses and the cook-off tents as well as to get into the rodeo. Sanitizing stations will also be available throughout the facilities.
