I will put it in different terms and nonetheless the question. The nation to me seems to be identify and disrupt the sources of money that enable sustaining the ongoing violent behavior. We went to eliminate bad behavior can find the money sources and hopefully eliminate. That seems like the mission. So the question is what about russia . What about putin . What about the financial sources that come out of there indirectly sustaining the violent behavior or directly or the criminal element that operate out of russia and what about the umbrella countries around russia to support that kind of activity. Whos following it whos tracking it, whos disrupting it . Great question. Appreciate that. Just to clarify earlier statements with regards to the money and Financial Intelligence is one aspect of it. We are not simply looking at a Wire Transfer or a transfer between two Different Bank accounts. But the other intelligence we have been simply not just focusing on the dollar amount, im what it
Committee, but if theres anybody watching this on television they should run and get anybody whos 55 years or older to come and watch and listen. What they are planning to do is set up an exchange. Now, they dont like exchanges in the Affordable Care act. They went to the Supreme Court over that whole issue. They dont think its good enough for the ordinary folks in the country, but for seniors, theyre going to set up an exchange that they say will be carefully monitored for medicare plans. So it isnt good enough for the rest of the country but were going to take medicare away from the seniors, give them a voucher and send them out to the exchange so they can choose from whatever plan whatevers been advertised or whatever. Now, no one can look at that and think they care anything about the health care of this country. Thats why this budget is dead on arrival. I would now yield to miss grisham. I thank my good friend from washington for yielding. In previous hearings republicans on this
We have these two binding obligations. To make sure that when they go out there, they have the best equipment. We want to satisfy both all of the time. But were increasingly at the point where its muscling out those other parts of the budget. At an event, recently, undersecretary of defense for president obama. You know she talks about it through her own personal experience. The benefits there are important. And she says that concerns me far more. Im much more worried about having all the right equipment and all the things they need to accomplish the mission and survive and i am about a marginal decrease in the benefit. Thats not often what a congressman is going to hear because theres a huge amount of pressure. They dont want to have their benefits cut. Well leave it on that provocative note. Thank you for getting our conversations started today. My colleagues fpi s around to all of you for joining us. [ applause ] i believed in you. I believed in the power of millions of courageous c
Into the overseas contingency account, which this Committee Said last year was against the budget process, was at abuse to the process. This is a lot of mealymouthed words to justify a run around the budget process area im glad the Senate Republicans in their budget today, they dont play these games. They take the president s level. They take the joint chiefss level. This is a lot of running around. It is going to undermine the integrity of this body. This doesnt send any message of certainty to our troops. In fact, it tells our troops their republican colleagues are totally uncertain and undecided about how to meet our basic commitments. The president s budget does it in a straightforward way. We should too. [applause] clerk the gentleman chairman price the gentleman yells back. Rep. Blackburn i thank you, mr. Chairman. The world is a dangerous place. We talk about that in this amendment. It is imperative that we lay out a way to work through the sequestration. This is something the p
The light to the offers. Unlike the radical turn the gop offers. We want to strengthen and keep the promise of medicare and build on the economic progress we have seen over the past years. I would like to yield my time to the gentlewoman from michigan. Thank you for all the work, the discussion we are all having among ourselves. The budget resolution has many things in it that concerns me. It hurts seniors. It hurts young people. Perhaps most of all, it takes away Economic Opportunities for hardworking families in this country. I am concerned by the assumption that there are some people who dont want to work. In michigan, i know too many people who are looking for jobs and cannot find them, or are working hard just to get ahead working two or three jobs. In michigan, and across the country, people just want the chance to work and the opportunity to earn a fair living. For many years, anyone willing to put in an honest day of work in this country could earn a fair wage. That built the A
