Reporter well, first of all, the traffic situation all lanes of interstate 80 just re opened within the last hour. So that is the good news for commuters out here in this area. Now, what we had this morning was a Chain Reaction situation. An Early Morning crash involving an ambulance shut down several lanes of traffic here in the eastbound lanes of interstate 80 at the cummings skyway. Then two other crashes happened as the traffic was slowing in this area because of the lane closures. The most serious of those crashes involved this big rig, which slammed into the back of a mazda sedan and the driver that have mazda was left dead at the scene. We understand he was a man. There is no other information on the victim in that case. Its unclear exactly why the driver of that big rig was unable to stop.
