administration or who are republicans and see it as their job to defend the president , to say, you know what, this collusion thing didnt happen. What russia did was terrible. We are against that. But Dont Try To Drag Donald Trump into this, dont try youre saying that he was involved in this to try to undercut his election. He won his election fair and square. And
what used to happen. stoking the fire. watching trump s twitter feed. but that process does force some accountability. right because it forces everybody in the government to prepare answers to the questions that are on the minds of the american people and the american press. without that kind of accountability loop in place, you re just totally cut off from reality. you re sitting there in the white house and i react negatively to the kind of partisanship thing, sure people spin left and right, but facts are facts. and once you cut the rope that ties what you re saying from the white house from any factual basis, we re just living in a reality emanating from donald trump as hi views. and you cannot govern in democracy that way. and that s how you get policies that ignore the reality of climate change. that s how you get policies that ignore the reality of what s happening to people around the world. so to me, it s not just the question of like should we have a press briefing or not

the same category who got a medal of friendship from putin so his people look at him as their leader and they say well if this guy thinks russia is not so bad, maybe we should think russia is not so bad. then you get into partisanship thing because the other chart you showed up there, the democrats who disapprove of putin have gone the other way in part because the republicans have gone with they ve gone. now we re in this backwards situation of what i least grew up thinking ronald reagan thought it was the evil empire and we were soft in my background. michael steele? i think ronald reagan was right and still is. i think mitt romney was right in 2012. i think the onus right now is on republican leadership. forget this partisan/nonpartisan crap. they need to take seriously what our intelligence community is finding and has found. and this idea that all of a sudden now we re going to give a pass to listen to some of the republican leaders out there talk about this and play down
more accusations to come. and jonathan, we are 24 days out from the election. how much more can the trump campaign withstand, and when would this need to stop for him to actually have a chance of winning? i m not sure that it can stop. you know, the whole trump argument that they re going to put out irrefutable evidence that these things didn t happen, it s hard to prove the negative. so my guess is that this will continue to go on through the end of the campaign. most of the political analysts i know think this campaign is essentially over. that short of short of the earth being consumed by fire that donald trump is pretty much over. this having a partisanship thing. democrats thinkthat, republicans, too. that s why you hear republicans focus on down-ball at races at this point. i think donald trump will continue to deal with this issue, not only through the end. the campaign but probably after it. and obviously this is a talking point. jane, is there any sense of how donald t
