- chicago police say two men have targeted small businesses. - but that s unfair. the folks here know there s so much more to this area, like the young community organizers-slash- revolutionaries i m meeting up with today, the gplxc or gage park latinx council. - [speaking spanish] - how you doing? - welcome to gplxc. - and welcome to the first cultural center in the southwest side that is led by queer, latinx, and immigrant folk. - whoo, yes. - yeah. - what was the inspiration to start this? - samantha and i spent a lot of our childhoods here in gage park and created what we wished we would have had when we were younger. as a first generation, queer, puerto rican, mexican kid, i thought that i was the only gay person in this whole community. so we created this space where we do a bunch of programs. - they re all rooted in art activism and popular education and social justice, and really the goal is for young people to begin reimagining the possibilities for themselves and their commun
