Michael Warrick exhibit opening at SAAC

The South Arkansas Arts Center is hosting a reception on Saturday, January 6 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. welcoming Little Rock sculptor Michael Warrick and his exhibition "Memento-Mori" to the Merkle Gallery January 4, 2024 – January 30, 2024. Warrick uses aluminum, hydrocal, and porcelain as his medium in his exhibition that displays a narrative as well as abstracted portraits exploring themes of transformation, angst, meditation, mentorship, identity, death, and memory as the key to understanding who we are and aspire to be. Each portrait is a compilation of images that builds a unique execution through its subtle assemblage of narrative images, natural textures and found objects.

Black Art Matters program receives grant funding to continue

Black Art Matters programs will continue because the program will receive some of the money from a new $100,000 grant by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation that has been slated for the Arts Garage and Stories of Atlantic City, both Stockton-affiliated organizations.
