Kids bake to help Dover Fire Toy Bank
DOVER – What started with a conversation about what people have gone through this year ended with two students raising more than $700 for the Dover Fire Toy Bank.
“Just before Thanksgiving, we were talking as a family about some of the hardships that have taken place this year with COVID and everything,” Dover resident Paul Barnes said about a conversation he had with his 10-year-old daughter Emma and his 8-year-old-son Hayden. “The kids said it would be nice to find a way to give back.”
After reading about the Dover Fire Toy Bank in Dover Download, a weekly newsletter from the city, the family decided to hold a virtual bake sale to raise money for the initiative.
