EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. â Lonnie Holleyâs life began at an impossible place: 1950, seventh among his motherâs 27 children, in Jim Crow-era Birmingham, Ala., the air thick with violent racism toward him and everyone he loved. Ella Emhoff turned into an overnight sensation with her appearance at the US president Joe Biden and Vise President’s inauguration in January. She wore an unusual Miu Miu coat with bejeweled shoulder teamed with a sober white-collar sent online media into ire.
Emhoff, a senior and art major student at Parsons School of Design, knitwear creator, young Model, and stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, signed with IMG Model and made her runway debut at the New York Fashion Week lately. She currently featured on a magazine cover of Dust, a European biannual magazine about art and fashion.’

Since Madame Vice-President Kamala Harris is Jamaican, her stepdaughter-turned-model Ella Emhoff is a distant cousin to Jamaicans, too.

Dust Magazine’s Issue #18.
So the designers at Proenza Schouler decided to dress Ella Emhoff art student, knitwear designer, fledgeling model in a couple of coats (plus a pantsuit) for her modelling debut in their new collection, unveiled for New York Fashion Week.
