SOUTH HURON – There’s some good news for South Huron taxpayers as council passed its 2021 budget Dec. 21 featuring a zero per cent tax rate increase.
Treasurer Sandy Becker presented the budget, noting that it includes $21.2 million in operating costs and $7.8 million in capital projects (about $2.8 million of that consists of project carryovers from 2020).

She said priorities for the 2021 budget were to maintain current service levels and end up with a zero per cent tax rate increase. Operations and capital expenses were looked at through a “climate change lens,” she said.
