Days after Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) banned the sale of meat during Navratri in Jammu city, the order was modified on Monday allowing its sale in certain minority-dominated areas.
The JMC on April 7 issued an order to close down slaughterhouses and meat shops selling both jhatka and halal meat during Navratri. Though most of the meat shops selling jhatka meat, usually owned by Hindus, are closed during Navratri, such an order was never issued in the past.
