Advocate Ishmael Semenya â the senior counsel appointed by Eskomâs board to investigate allegations of racism and poor governance levelled by the power utilityâs former chief procurement officer (CPO) Solly Tshitangano against group CEO Andre de Ruyter has found no substance to the claims.
This was confirmed by Eskom in a strongly worded statement on Wednesday, which highlighted Semenyaâs findings and also lambasted employees charged with poor performance who âmake baseless claims that bring Eskom and its management into disreputeâ.

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) says it is worried after an investigation into alleged impropriety and procurement irregularities by Eskom CEO, Andre de Ruyter has been called off.
According to Numsa s Phakamile Hlubi-Majola, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts(Scopa) has called off its investigation after a request made by the minister of Public Enterprises, Pravin Gordhan.
