But Is Bagbin Equally Determined to Work with Nana Akufo-Addo?
JAN 10, 2021
I was not the least bit surprised about the fact that Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu would sell the House Speaker’s Chair to the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and, in particular, to his best friend Mr. Alban SK Bagbin. As noted in a dozen or more previous columns, four years ago, the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Majority Leader crossed party lines to vigorously campaign for Mr. Bagbin in the latter’s Nadowli-West Constituency, in the Upper-West Region. Mr. Mensah-Bonsu, who has for quite sometime now publicly indicated that he is far more interested in furthering his own individual interests and those of his National Democratic Congress’ colleagues and cronies across the aisle, tugged Mr. Dominic Nitiwul along with him to campaign for the newly “elected” Speaker of the House, who has made an unsavory career out of parliamentary and partisan politics since 1992.
