Haripur city to get potable water thru Rs210m project

PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Local Government, Elections, Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs Akbar Ayub Khan said on Sunday that the completion of mega water supply scheme in Haripur is an historic achievement of the government as the water depleting city will get basic necessity like clean drinking water round the clock in future at a cost of Rs210 million.
The minister was talking to a delegation of the media and elite of Haripur during his brief visit to the area. Akbar Ayub Khan said that a relief agency called KFWO has started work on the project in collaboration with the German government.
Minister vows to implement reward, punishment policy in LG Deptt

PESHAWAR: Minister for Local Government, Elections, Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs Akbar Ayub Khan said on Thursday that the reward and punishment policy of the provincial government would be implemented in letter and spirit to better serve the masses of the province.
“There is no room for lethargic and corrupt officers in my department, therefore, all the officials will have to bring about a vivid change in their behaviour to improve public delivery mechanism,” he said while presiding a meeting on improving the performance of municipal bodies especially the Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) here.
LG minister applauds public private partnership in uplift of merged districts

KALAYA: Provincial Minister for Local Government, Rural Development, Elections and Parliamentary Affairs Akbar Ayub Khan on Wednesday applauded the role of public-private partnership in the development of merged districts.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a causeway bridge at Kasha in Upper Orakzai, which was constructed by Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) under the auspices of its European Union (EU)-funded and KFW-financed “Aid to Uprooted People in Pakistan” project.
The mega project of Kasha Causeway was launched on December 30, 2019 at a cost of Rs44.5 million with an objective to ease the inhabitant’s access to the market, educational institutes and health facilities.

Minister asks govt deptts to ensure timely completion of projects

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs Akbar Ayub Khan said on Sunday that government departments should cooperate with each other for timely completion of developmental projects.
He was addressing a joint meeting of the local heads of WSSC Mardan, TMA Mardan and Communications Department at the LG Secretariat in Peshawar, said a handout.
The meeting took stock of the hygiene, sanitation, and development schemes in the area. The pace of work on the projects was also reviewed and necessary decisions were taken.
Akbar Ayub said that coordination among the heads and officials of all departments was essential to ensure the quality and timely completion of development schemes. He said that the goal of sustainable development could be achieved through the confidence of the people.
