C’is a sign of renewal in a country facing many challenges. Vjosa Osmani, the most popular politician in Kosovo, was elected president on Sunday by the deputies, consecrating the arrival at the helm of a political class of a new generation determined to put an end to corruption. The legislative elections of February had finished confirming the fall of the old guard of the former independence commanders of the war against the Serbian forces (1998-99).
The reformist movement of the left Vetëvendosje (VV) of the new Prime Minister Albin Kurti allied to Vjosa Osmani, a 38-year-old lawyer, had obtained a landslide victory by promising to eradicate the capture of state resources in the territory plagued by poverty and political instability.
