Harry Shook, age 81, of Windy Hill Drive in Spruce Pine, the Grassy Creek community, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at his home.
Born on February 11, 1939 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Charles and Ebbie Greene Shook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Paul Shook and his brothers; Cecil ‘Rob’ Shook and Jack Shook; an infant brother, Joe Shook, and an infant sister, Mary Sue Shook.
Harry was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church and had served as a Sunday School Teacher and known as a great prayer warrior. He was a member of the Parkway Fire Department and was a fire fighting instructor. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Henredon Furniture after forty-two years of service. Harry enjoyed being with people, was always smiling and never met a stranger. He enjoyed life, telling jokes and having fun. In his spare time, he also enjoyed gardening.
