Attorneys representing a 19-year-old woman in a suit against the Normal Police Department are seeking to withdraw from the case following the plaintiff s indictment.
A judge has approved transferring the Taylor Brown case to the State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor office in Springfield. The McLean County State’s Attorney’s office has recused itself from the case that involves allegations of aggravated arson, aggravated battery of a peace officer, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
Taylor Brown alleges Normal police officers grabbed her wrists, and one officer applied pressure to the back of her ear while another officer pulled her to the ground when the department questioned her about a Feb. 8 fire.
