SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury-based company is pushing for more involvement in STEM fields with donations to 15 local schools.
On Tuesday, the Cato Gas and Oil Company announced they awarded 15 schools with $500 checks to support their STEM programs. Schools awarded include Berlin Intermediate School, Crisfield High School and Academy, North Salisbury Elementary School, Pemberton Elementary, and Parkside High School.
In a statement, Cato’s President said, “These students are tomorrow’s scientists and engineers. The sky’s the limit for our kids, and we’re always proud to help fuel their learning and support their career dreams.”

Seniors are encouraged to wear formal attire for the grand march and dance. Park amenities will also be open, such as mini-golf, go-karts and rides, creating a fun atmosphere for all in attendance. A food truck will also be available for purchases.
Tickets are $25 for Parkside seniors and can be purchased at the Abundant Life Worship Center on Hobbs road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A rain date is set for June 4.

It wasn t a prom, but seniors were invited to Trimper Rides in Ocean City for a night of rides, dancing, arcade games and more.

Auburn: Auburn University’s nursing school is publishing a free book to tell the stories of some of its alumni and their work during the coronavirus pandemic. Titled “Auburn Nursing – Living the Creed During the COVID-19 Pandemic,” the book includes stories of Auburn-educated nurses who worked both in their hometowns and places including New York to care for COVID-19 patients. The stories show the difficulty of working in an overwhelming situation, said nursing dean Gregg Newschwander. “At Auburn, we often say, we make leaders,” he said in a statement. “In this book, you will see how true that is.” The university statement said the nursing school marked its 40th anniversary during the 2019-20 academic year, and stories began coming in about the work being done by Auburn alumni during the pandemic.
