And COVID-19 has not only heightened our appreciation for green space but helped draw attention to the fact that lack of access to parks is a common problem in neighbourhoods across the country.
Based on Park People’s survey of 3,500 Canadians, 85 per cent of respondents said that parks have had a positive impact on their mental health during the pandemic. And 73 per cent of Canadians who self-identified as struggling with social isolation said that time spent in parks helped to offset their sense of loneliness.
