One which sticks out is the story of Chrissy, or Ben as he was formerly known, who became the happiest dog in the world at Christmas in 1996. The stray dog was taken in by Lesley Casson, 27, and her husband Sean of Barrow. The couple adopted Chrissy from Joanna Braithwaite who was part of the rescue team in her role as co-ordinator for Petsearch.
