SPIRIT LAKE - Cherokee s baseball Braves committed five errors while three pitchers gave up eight hits in an 11-1, five-run-rule loss to Spirit Lake here Monday night.
The Braves, 0-2 in the Lakes Conference and 0-6 overall, will play at Spencer (3-5) tonight and then host Ridge View on Thursday. Spirit Lake improves to 2-0 in the league and 7-1 overall.
Joe Benson started on the mound for the Braves and worked two innings before leaving with a sore arm. He was replaced by Simon Mummert, who went two innings before Alex Kohn finished up on the hill for the Braves.
