P.E.I. needs to move faster to open more patient medical homes in order to get more Islanders the front-line health care they need, says Health P.E.I.'s chief medical officer.
Health P.E.I. says it's improving vascular health services by offering virtual and in-person appointments with a visiting vascular surgeon, thanks to an arrangement with QEII's vascular surgery department in Halifax.
Patient medical homes have been formed at five Island primary care locations, beginning the shift in primary health care from solo family practices to collaborative health care.
