Jay Abbott and other senior Indianapolis FBI officials failed to act on those allegations for at least 8 months, and later lied about doing so, according to a stinging rebuke of the FBI s handling of the case from the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Justice. That delay and inaction allowed Nassar to continue to practice and molest at least 100 more young athletes under the guise of medical treatment, according to an attorney for 250 Nassar survivors.
