An elementary student in southwestern Minnesota has died from complications from COVID-19.
The tragic news, first reported by Marshall Radio, was emailed to parents in the Marshall School District on Monday, with Superintendent Jeremy Williams confirming to Bring Me The News that a first-grade student at Park Side Elementary School in Marshall has died.
According to data from the Minnesota Department of Health, this marks the third pediatric death from COVID-19 in the state.
Previously, the disease was confirmed as the cause of death for a child who was under 1-year-old and a child between the ages of 5 and 9.
