Musical Phantom hopes to bring comfort to people amid pandemic

The fourth season of Phantom, which has been on stage at the Charlotte Theater in southern Seoul since March, is scheduled to run through June 27. It is Seoul-based EMK Musical Company s first show this year.
Based on the 1910 French novel, The Phantom of the Opera, by Gaston Leroux, the musical is set in the Paris Opera House and follows young soprano Christine Daae who bumps into Erik, a mysterious masked man living beneath the opera house. Phantom is a world-famous musical with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Arthur Kopit, which premiered in the U.S. in 1991.
