Sign Up The owner of an Aberdeen café that was severely damaged in a deliberate fire this weekend said she has been “overwhelmed” by community support, and vowed to reopen to customers as soon as possible. The emergency services were called to the Park Café in Hazlehead Park shortly before 9pm on Friday after reports of a blaze. A total of seven appliances were sent, along with a high-reach vehicle and command unit, and firefighters worked late into the night to bring the situation under control.

Aberdeen park cafe shut for foreseeable future after devastating fire

Updated: 12/12/2020, 11:09 am An Aberdeen park cafe will be shut for the for foreseeable future after a blaze ripped through the building last night. Fire crews were called to Hazlhead Park at around 9pm last night following reports of a fire at the Park Cafe – which officers have said is being treated as deliberate. Seven appliances from across the city, including a high-reach vehicle and a command unit were sent to tackle the blaze. The final appliance left the scene this morning. In a statement on social media bosses from the cafe have thanked fire crews for their brave efforts to tackle the blaze.
