All Blacks blindside flanker Shannon Frizell has been omitted from the Highlanders first game of Super Rugby Transtasman, following reports of bad behaviour.
The decision comes after the 27-year-old was alleged to have assaulted a woman at a Dunedin bar last weekend, with reports on Monday noting Dunedin police were investigating the incident and Frizell had not been charged with anything at this point. The Highlanders also noted they were aware of the allegations and were also investigating the incident.

Highlanders co-captain Aaron Smith says he isn t falling for Australian mind games before the Reds clash in Dunedin.
Aaron Smith has lit the fuse for what could be a feisty encounter between the Highlanders and Reds on Friday, dismissing the Reds’ claim to be underdogs as standard Australian mind games but also questioning whether they can “get back up” after winning Super Rugby AU last weekend. Reds flanker Fraser McReight told Australian reporters this week the Reds were “sort of underdogs” based on the betting markets set by the bookies, but Smith was having none of that argument before the clash at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
