u.s. got almost everything it wanted from mexico. the talks aren t over. they are going to go on for another three months, we know. cnn national correspondent di e dianne gallagher live from el paso, texas. talk to us but how people at the border are reacting, diane. and good morning. reporter: good morning, christi, victor, in terms of the fact that tariffs aren t going to be imposed, at least it appears right now, that is a bit of a sigh of relief. the mexico president tweeted shortly after president trump thanking the mexican people for their support. he then noted that they re going to gather to celebrate today in tijuana at 5:00 to celebrate this fact. but as far as migration goes, will this affect that? we ll see. the numbers of it look like this in more than a decade. nearly 133,000 people apprehended by customs and border protection for crossing into the u.s. illegally in just

christi. extra border enforcement and help in trafficking networks being broken up. the talks aren t over yet though. they re going to go on for another three months. cnn national correspondent, dianne gallagher live from el paso, texas right now. wondering what the people at the border, how they re framing this, what they think. reporter: nobody on either side of the border wanted tariffs on mexican exports to the united states. it would have been difficult for business. and life here along the entire border, specifically in places like el paso and just over there in juarez. the mexican president tweeted thanking the american people for their support, soon after president trump tweeted last night he then said they would all gather to celebrate these results at 5:00 p.m. in tijuana today. initially that was supposed to be a demonstration against the tariffs, of course the president turning it into a celebration.
on april 12th. the first week of april we will get filings in his case that we expect to detail the extent of his cooperation with federal prosecutors since he plead guilty last summer. given all of the different elements of the scandal that sam patten is potentially connected to, the inaugural, kilimnik, cambridge analytica, it s going to be fascinating to see what he s helped prosecutors with when he finally turns up in court and his case, which has been totally opaque to us the public thus far gets laid out for the public, we will understand how he fits into this puzzle as well. so there s definitely still stuff that remains to be explained that we will eventually learn as members of the public who are watching all of this stuff. there is definitely cases that aren t over, trials that haven t been held, questions that haven t been answered, stuff that hasn t been unredacted and unsealed for public viewing. but even in the middle of all those things, in general, the theme, the melody
