he s no ordinary pickpocket here. we re up all nightline with abc s bill weir. reporter: if you happen across a man named apollo robbins. chances are, he ll ask to show you a few magic tricks. if you move it, you can make it look like it flies across. reporter: but what he s really doing, he s stealing your stuff. your watch. your wallet. your phone. because apollo robbins is a close-up magician that just happens to be the world s greatest pickpocket. that we know of. there s other masters out there. but this is the rare thief that makes a living by stealing your stuff and always giving it back. thank you very much. reporter: and so, he developed an act. and moved to vegas. where caesar s palace paid him to entertain guests this way. it was like pickpocket college. and one night, he got a crack at president jimmy carter.
