Maharashtra CID has filed a chargesheet against four persons in connection with an extortion case involving former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and others.
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh told the Supreme Court that while the Maharashtra government was registering one FIR after another against him, it was defending DGP Pandey by filing writ petitions before the Bombay High Court.
The proclamation was issued by Mumbai Police after the Magistrate had allowed a plea filed by the Mumbai Police seeking to declare the senior IPS officer a "proclaimed offender".
Senior IPS Officer Param Bir Singh has moved Mumbai Court against an order allowing the Mumbai Police to declare him as a 'proclaimed offender' in an extortion case.
Single member high level committee of Justice KU Chandiwal directed senior IPS officer Param Bir Singh to appear before him in order to avoid execution of bailable warrant.
