The 10th edition of the international trade festival in Rajkot starts today. A MoU will be signed for the first 'make in India' mall in Uganda. The festival will have delegates, industry players, startups, and businessmen participating. The chief guest is the Zimbabwe deputy minister of industry and commerce. Various African countries' high commissioners and trade counsel ministers will also attend.
Rajkot: The Saurashtra Vepar Udhyog Mahandal (SVUM) will organised a farmers’ convention on March 20 as part of its three-day trade show that begins March 19 in Rajkot.
At the convention, those who want to invest in the agriculture sector in African countries will be facilitated. Several farmers have already signed MoUs for cultivation using Indian technology in African countries.
Last year, 150 farmers had participated in the convention, however, the projects could not be materialised because of the world-wide lockdown.
Parag Tejura, president of SVUM said, “We are expecting more participants than last year. Several business delegations have confirmed their participation and their visas have also been approved. This is a good opportunity for Indians, as African countries are now focusing on the agriculture sector to increase their production.”
