Thanks to paraclimbing and adaptive rock climbing, the sport of climbing is limitless
When Caroline Winstel competed in the 2021 Paraclimbing National Championships in Salt Lake City earlier in June, she became the first Cincinnatian to vie for a spot on the national team.
Winstel first came into Climb Time Oakley last August as part of her dissertation research on adaptive athletics. Winstel, who uses a wheelchair, said she liked that climbing was a sport she could do during the COVID-19 pandemic that was accessible to her and initially seemed easy enough to try. After the first session, I fell in love, Winstel said.
