JOHNSTOWN Para-Coat Technologies Inc. of Johnstown, a specialty engineered coatings provider who works with the military, medical, aerospace and automotive industries, has acquired the assets of the R.D. Dragomir Co. in Santa Ana, Calif.
Para-Coat Technologies began working with Richard and Melinda Dragomir at the onset of the company in 2010. The R.D. Dragomir Co. was established in 1996 to build custom systems for the parylene industry.
It was established when the R.D. Mathis Co. allowed Dragomir to take over the custom equipment and they would continue on with their main business in refractory metals. The R.D. Mathis Co. started building parylene equipment in the mid-1970s. Richard Dragomir was in charge of the equipment division which designed and built Parylene Systems exclusively for Union Carbide, the original parylene provider.
