THE City Government of Davao, through the City Agriculturist’s Office, has begun the deployment of its El Niño action plan as the dry spell continues to damage crops, affecting the livelihood of farmers across the city.
THE Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has already distributed 24,819 food packs in districts affected by flooding and landslides brought about by the trough of the Low-Pressure Area in the city in the first week of February.
CSWDO urges barangays to proactively establish disaster services to aid flood and landslide victims. Officer-in-Charge Julie P. Dayaday commends barangays with community cooking initiatives, emphasizing the need for local emergency responses.
